  2. Right away, the “fool’s mass” jumps out at me. What does that mean? What will it look like?

In thinking about the scripture, I also wonder about what role we play in planting, in being the “sower.” Do we imitate God when we plant something and watch it grow?

The last thing I wondered was if it would be possible to do some gardening on Bowie’s roof. Could we start the work of planting together and take seeds home to continue on our own?

Thanks Bowie and Paul! I’m excited for Friday.

  4. A highlight of this ritual was a discussion on how to make “good soil” in the form of compost, an ongoing project on my roof garden. We dug deep down into my compost pot and all had a chance to handle the dark, rich, sweet smelling “good soil” that had formed. One person remarked how different it was from the “compacted dust” that passes for soil in NYC. We used some of the compost in our “seed bombs” (the bags of soil and seeds) that we later used for guerilla gardening!
